Description

Provides the student with an understanding of what constitutes good research in an effort to promote Evidence-Based Dentistry (EDB). The main objective of this course is to develop the ability to weigh the relative merits of different types of evidence. Specific goals are: 1) to develop the ability to properly evaluate the evidence-based literature to aid in developing best practices for the dental profession, 2) to develop the knowledge of the basic tools and concepts used in the practice of research, 3) to understand the importance of research study design, and 4) to recognize the appropriate data analysis for the major research designs.
