Description

This is a two-week core clerkship in Emergency Medicine in which third-year students gain experience in the initial evaluation, stabilization, and management of undifferentiated patients, as well as acutely ill & injured patients. The aim is for students to learn how to approach the undifferentiated patient, differentiate patient acuity (i.e., sick versus not sick), perform simple procedures, and provide basic management of critical life-threatening emergencies. Students participate in patient care, as well as simulation training, procedural skills training, ultrasound training, didactics in core EM topics, and self-directed learning modules.
