Space Medicine and Physiology

This four-week elective four fourth-year students is offered in conjunction with NASA scientists and flight surgeons wo do most of the teaching through distance learning techniques (tele-lectures and videotapes). The didactics will provide an overview of the special physiology and medical conditions experienced during exposure to microgravity with emphasis on the development of countermeasures and methods for space-related research. Grades will be based upon weekly tests administered.
