Description
This didactic and clinical course in the accelerated program addresses mental health issues throughout the life span. Pertinent historical, political, social and economic aspects of mental health and mental illness are explored as well as legal, cultural and ethical issues. The roles of the nurse as provider of care, coordinator of care and member of the profession are examined in relationship to the promotion of mental health, the prevention of mental illness, and the care of the mentally ill.
