Description

This didactic course will provide a thorough understanding of the pathophysiology and management of common disease processes in the neonatal (preterm and term infants). This course will focus on the cardiovascular, pulmonary, gastrointestinal/nutrition, renal/genitourinary, and hematologic systems as well as fluid and electrolytes. Furthermore, this course will assist in developing the role of the neonatal nurse practitioner in the neonatal intensive care nursery (NICU), especially in emergency situations.
