This course covers key financial concepts and principles in the health care industry. Managerial and financial accounting, as well as financial analysis and strategic planning, are covered. Financial management under prospective payment and capitation systems, as well as product costing and pricing, will be emphasized. Risk-based contracting and other anticipated changes to financial management due to health care reform will be introduced.
