This first-year, core course includes protein and nucleic acid structure, enzyme function and regulation, cellular membranes, molecular genetics and protein synthesis, signal transduction and hormonal control mechanisms, vitamins, the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats and protein, cellular bioenergetics and the synthesis of lipids, carbohydrates, proteins and nucleic acids.
