Computers in Medicine (Advanced)

This senior course will provide students with previous computer experience an opportunity to work with faculty members on the develo pment of a computer application that is of mutual interest to the student and the faculty member involved. Students may use the microcomputers in the Division of Learning Resources Computer Training Laboratory or the computer of the cooperating faculty member. All students will spend one day per week with medical center departments that use computers for financial, administrative, clinical or teaching purposes. Prior to signing up for the elective, students must submit a statement that includes an outline of their project, whether or not they will need to use a computer in the Computer Training Laboratory, and the endorsement of the cooperative faculty member. (3 students each block. Not available during June, July, and August.)
