Description
This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the use of health information technology, patient safety, and health care quality improvement. Emphasis is placed on technology-based health applications that enhance the efficacy of the nursing process, as well as the role of the nurse in improving the quality of health care through designing, implementing, and evaluating evidence-based patient safety interventions and strategies. Confidentiality, ethical, and legal issues related to the use of electronic health records will be considered. This online course is delivered utilizing asynchronous distance learning modalities.
