This course introduces students to fundamental concepts and applications of Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Special emphasis is given in the areas of healthcare and epidemiology. This course combines an overview of the general principles of GIS and analytical use of spatial information technology applicable for healthcare professionals. This is the first course of a series on geospatial information technology to be offered as an interdisciplinary graduate course at UMMC.
