Description
General introduction to descriptive and inferential statistical methods designed for students in the biomedical health science. The course will cover the basic statistical procedures including one sample t-test, two independent samples t-test, paired t-test, correlation and regression methods. Little exposure to experimental designs and their application in the medical field will be addressed as well. Methods of reliability and validity of screening tests will be discussed in this course. The students will be exposed to SPSS statistical software to learn how to analyze and interpret the results. Emphasis will be given to the applied nature of the course. Examples will be given to evaluate the quality of the clinical literature based on what the student learned in this course.
