Overview
Description
Provides ambulatory public health clinic experience in county health department of comparable settings. The clerkship is a joint project of the Mississippi State Department of Health and the Department of Preventive Medicine. Students gain hands-on experience in clinical public health, for example: sexually transmitted disease diagnosis and treatment; tuberculosis prevention, diagnosis and treatment; prenatal clinical evaluations, outpatient gynecological procedures and clinical maternal-child health. Experiences are also available in food and water sanitation control and immunization programs. (2 students each month. Available all months BY ARRANGEMENT.)
