Pathology of Implants

A study of histological sections of implants in various parts of the body and the interpretation of biological response to these materials. Students will also learn of any systemic aspect of the biological response and understand the watershed nature of the response. It is anticipated that the student will be become skilled in the examination of histological sections of various tissue types as they pertain to implants. Fluorometric staining will be discussed.
