Extramural Surgery

Upon special arrangement and with approval of the Student Clerkship Director, extramural blocks in General Surgery, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Urology, and Vascular Surgery are available at selected Mississippi locations and out-of-state academic medical centers. The block will focus upon understanding the pathophysiology of surgical diseases and upon choosing cost-effective surgical treatment options using available local and regional resources.
