Description
This supervised 225-hour clinical practice in critical care settings allows students the opportunity to integrate and practice advanced health assessment, diagnostic reasoning and decision making, for the collaborative management of patients with complex critical health problems such as multi-system failure, cardiac and or respiratory failure, brain attack or renal failure. The utilization of advanced technology as a diagnostic and management tool is emphasized. Students are precepted by physicians/acute care nurse practitioners under the direction of faculty. Settings include coronary care units, surgical intensive care units, neurology intensive care units, emergency departments. etc.
