Description
This course is designed to review and reinforce patient data-base collection procedures for the patient admission process. This course also discusses numerous chronic medical conditions; their physiology and pathophysiology; their medical management; their unique treatment management problems that they present to the dentist; and indications for consultation with the patient?s physician. The rationale for the use of analgesic agents and antimicrobial agents and the principles of prescription writing will be presented. Additionally, infection control, emerging infectious diseases, oral cancer and the management of oral mucosal lesions will be addressed.
